Talk with parents about career choices

Family talks about careers often stall on prestige, fear, or one neighbor story. A better frame is shared research: what a week looks like, what subjects you can sustain, and what to verify on official sites this year.

Before the talk

• Finish the Career Path Assessment and open Your Profile.
• Copy the parent / mentor summary, or write your top three Fit Scores by hand.
• Save two careers to compare, plus one backup path.
• Note one try-before task you are willing to do in 14 days.

During the talk

1. Describe a Tuesday in each shortlisted path before arguing about college brands.
2. Explain Fit Scores as matching signals, not marks, IQ, or admission odds.
3. Ask what worries parents most: money, safety, employability, or social pressure.
4. Agree what you will verify together on official exam and institute pages.

After the talk

Pick one experiment: a project, a conversation with someone in the field, or a skill-gap practice plan. Revisit the shortlist after that experiment. Pressure softens when both sides see progress instead of a one-night verdict.
