What Assessment Fit Scores mean

JobCareerTest shows percentage Assessment Fit Scores next to ranked career directions. Students often ask whether a 70% score is “good enough” or whether a 40% score means they should abandon that field. Neither reading is quite right. Fit Scores are relative signals from your answers in one sitting.

How to think about a percentage

Each direction accumulates points from the options you choose. The Fit Score compares your points for that direction with the maximum you could have earned for it across the assessment. A higher score means stronger alignment with the interests, preferences, and subject leanings that feed that direction in this quiz design.

It does not measure intelligence, predict board marks, or guarantee admission. Two students with the same top match can still need different colleges, budgets, and study habits.

Close scores matter more than the number itself

If Medicine is 52% and Science is 49%, treat them as a cluster. Explore both. If Engineering is far ahead of everything else, you still should read the warnings, especially if you dislike the subjects the roadmap requires.

Retakes and honesty

Answering what you think adults want to hear can inflate a prestige direction. Answer as you actually are. If your life context changes (new subjects, a project you loved, or a shadowing experience), a retake can shift rankings. That is expected.

• Verify exams and eligibility on official sites before committing.
