Career choices after Class 10

After Class 10, decisions arrive fast: Science, Commerce, Arts, diploma, or a skill track. Family pressure and peer comparisons make the choice feel permanent. It is important, but it is not the last decision you will ever make. The goal is a path you can study for two years without constant dread.

Separate prestige from daily work

Ask what a typical Tuesday looks like in each option: labs, numbers, writing, tools, or people. Prestige titles fade when the daily work does not match how you think and recharge. A shorter list of what you enjoy doing for an hour helps more than a list of famous colleges.

Map streams to real gateways

• Science (PCM) often opens engineering, physical sciences, and many tech routes. Math and physics comfort matter.
• Science (PCB) supports medicine and many health pathways, with competitive exams for clinical tracks.
• Commerce supports business, finance, and related degrees; accounting comfort helps for some professional routes.
• Arts / Humanities supports law, media, psychology, civil services foundations, teaching, and writing-heavy work: with clearer focus needed early.
• Diploma / vocational can be a strong practical start when you learn by doing and want earlier skill depth.
